In addition to the Rallye Appearance Group and the Blacktop Package, 2014 sees the arrival of the Redline Package. This latest package includes black twenty-inch wheels with a red lip, a rear spoiler, sport seats, a firmer suspension, a Beats by Dr. Dre audio system, a slight boost in engine output, and shift paddles for the transmission. The Redline Package is available on the SXT and SXT Plus (rear-wheel-drive models only).

For 2014, there's not a lot happening with the Avenger. The big news is that Dodge has expanded the availability of the popular Blacktop and Rallye appearance packages to the base SE model. Both packages add only $595 to the sticker price.

Changes for 2014 all concern the lengthy options list. For the SXT, there's the Super Sport Group (twenty-inch wheels, uprated brakes/suspension/steering, shift paddles, a rear spoiler, and a quicker rear axle ratio); the Sinister Super Sport Group has the same stuff but with black wheels. Also newly available is a power sunroof and launch control. Chrysler's Uconnect 6.5-inch touchscreen multimedia system is now a $695 standalone option. Finally, new paint colors include one flashback hue: Plum Crazy purple.

Since 2014 marks thirty years since the debut of the Caravan, Dodge is rolling out 30th Anniversary editions of the SE and the SXT to celebrate. The package content is different in the SE and the SXT, but it's essentially a bundle of optional equipment with special trim. Another new appearance option is the Blacktop Package, also available on the SE and the SXT, which -- as you might suspect -- features blacked-out exterior trim and more use of black inside, with contrasting silver stitching.

For 2014, there is some juggling of models and equipment. The Crew trim level is replaced by the Limited. The base AVP model adds the option of XM satellite radio. The SXT can now be ordered with navigation, leather upholstery, and a DVD player.
